HCC Forward

What is HCC Forward?

HCC Forward is Howard Community College’s framework for guiding our institution forward in reaching our North Start goal of reaching a completion, transfer, and four-year graduation rate of 59% by the fall of 2025.

Why should HCC Forward be important to me?

HCC Forward is not a temporary project at Howard Community College. This framework is centered around fostering student success– the foundation of all future and current work being done at HCC.

Our focus on student success is intertwined and connected in all of the work being done at our college, from the facilities team maintaining our beautiful campus to the roles of our leadership. Every single employee plays an integral part of moving our institution forward and supporting our students to success.

President’s Leadership Development Program

What is the President’s Leadership Development Program?

The President’s Leadership Development Program is a 12-month program comprised of two distinct cohorts for HCC employees. The program displays our commitment to supporting and developing leaders who will drive positive change within the HCC community.

 

This program fosters professional growth through innovative curricula and supportive networks, empowering the selected fellows to deepen their organizational insights and contribute to the future of HCC.

Are these programs designed for me?

Yes, each program has a specifically designed curriculum, but anyone who has been at the college for at least 1 year will qualify and is encouraged to apply!

How do I apply for the President’s Leadership Development Program?

To apply for the President’s Leadership Development Program, you will first need to determine which cohort you are eligible for.

 

To determine your eligibility and review application instructions, please visit the sites for Leadership HCC and the President’s Leadership Academy.

 

Reminder: Applications close on October 4th!

Will faculty and instruction be represented in the Leadership Development Programs?

Yes! All sessions will be providing best practices inside and outside of the classroom.

Our selected fellows will be exposed to a learning structure based on the foundational principles of instruction and administration.

When will the fellows be announced?

The cohorts for both the President’s Leadership Academy and Leadership HCC will be announced in November.

How much of a time commitment should the fellows expect?

Great question! If you participate in one of the two cohorts for PLDP, you can expect the following commitments for planning purposes:

– Monthly Sessions

– Each session will be one full work day

– Pre-work is assigned for sessions, as well as homework

These logistics are recurring through each program. However, there may be one or two months that include an additional day of commitment. These will be communicated in advance so that everyone can plan accordingly.
